I started singing in bands at the age of twelve, , influenced by my father who sang barbershop and my grandfather who had his own Big Band and played piano. My ancestors came to the US from Belgium in 1886 and played for their passage by being the entertainment on the steam ship.
I have played trumpet since the age of ten in the North Haledon Community Band and continued playing through  Manchester Regional High School in Haledon, NJ in the marching and concert band.
I started my own first group STREETLIGHT and we became one of the top show groups in the North Jersey area.
I have also appeared with J.T. CARTER and The CRESTS,  The Fabulous INFERNOS SHOW BAND, and The CLASSICS IV.
I have appeared all over the tri state area, Madison Square Garden, The Continental Airlines Arena,
Philadelphia Spectrum,  Nassau Coliseum and Atlantic City Showrooms.
Working with Michael and Bobby in The Symphonics is a dream.
The level of talent and friendship is second to none.
Many thanks to Dennis Rotunda, Bobby Stefanelli, Bobby Wells,  J.T. and Lee Carter and most of all Michael Schiavo,  who helped me get to where I am today.
I operate the Sound and arrange vocals and tracks for the Symphonics.
I live with my wife and best friend of many years Terry ( Giampino ) in Netcong, NJ.

It has always been a passion of mine to perform and share in the magic that the music can bring to others.
I consider my voice an instrument from God!  I believe there was and is a purpose or plan for me to entertain others.
I take it very serious and try to never leave my audience disappointed.  I bring an extreme amount of passion and energy to the stage each and every night.
I have had the opportunity to share the stage with some of the area's finest acts.
As a young man, I began my career with Sidewalk Symphony and later was an original member of the Infernos
( both A cappella and Band ).
In the early 1980's I had the opportunity to sing lead with
The Duprees and shared the stage with Rock and Roll legends that included;
Chuck Berry, Bo Didley , The Temptations, Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge, The Drifters, The Moonglows, The Shirelles, The Platters, The Earls,
Jay Black and the Americans, to name a few.
My dreams went from vinyl to reality!  Who I once listened to, and pretended to be, was happening to me.
I owe my stage and performing ethics to my idols, Jackie Wilson, Johnny Maestro, and the Temptations.
It is my strong love for Soul and R&B that drives my voice and the selections I sing.
I am honored to sing with the Symphonics and hope in some small measure I can add my talents to two incredibly-talented performers.
I will always look to the heavens for Dennis Rotunda and thank God for close friends like Tom "Pookie" Vitale and Steve Vervaet.

As a teenager growing up in the streets of Newark during the 60s, I was always surrounded by the ever-present backdrop of Soul music.  As I grew older, I fell in love with music of the legendary R&B vocal groups of the 50s and early 60s.  I was heavily influenced by the smooth, ethereal vocals of the Moonglows, Dells, Larks and Five Keys, the gut-bucket, gospel feel of the Five Royales, Flames and Midnighters, and the soulful, uptown sounds of the Impressions and Temptations, to name a few.

I first had the opportunity to satisfy my love of vocal harmony by becoming an original founding member of “Sidewalk Symphony”.  This acclaimed group hit the NJ nightclub circuit by storm, and built a huge following throughout the late 70s.  Later on, some of the original members of Sidewalk Symphony and I formed a new group, the “Infernos”, and I did the vocal arrangements in addition to singing bass.  Although we sang primarily A cappella music, the Infernos released many 45 RPM records, and received several prestigious awards from vocal group organizations.  Later on, I joined the renown group the “Bon-Aires” where I had the opportunity to perform at many concert venues and revivals in NYC and NJ.

Today, I live with my lovely wife Judith in Morris County.  Both our daughters have successful careers and live in other parts of the state and country.  Although well into the millennium, I still enjoy discovering “new”, obscure R&B recordings from the 50s and 60s, and I occasionally create new music with my home recording studio.

It’s been over 40 years, but I relive the magic every time I sing with Symphonics!  They are old friends and singing buddies who haven’t “lost it”.  If you want to experience the original spirit, craftsmanship and exuberance of the vocal group art form, you needn’t look any further than the Symphonics!
